FG International erects a new flare stack for Valero in Aruba

FG International Holland BV, the Dutch Special Lifting company, has been awarded a major turnkey contract by North America’s largest independent petroleum refiner Valero Energy Group.

The project involves the dismantling and removal of the old flare stack, a 90m high tower with a 11.5m x 11.5m base. At the same location a new unit will be build up.

The limited space near the waterfront created an extra challenge that mainly triggered the used erection method. And the fast delivery to shorten the shutdown time further cemented the deal between Valero and FG.

FG International has worldwide applied various methods for flare stack erection throughout the years.
